Naval Ravikant wrote the thread of all thread, "How to Get Rich (without getting lucky)"

The thread was and is incredibly popular. The thread is scripture for anybody who makes things on the internet. It's a master class on learning, leverage, scaling, decision making and many other key concepts.

He sums the thread up with two words, "productize yourself."

Each tweet in the thread is clear and actionable. This summary, however, is much more mysterious.

Like many other important questions in life, productizing yourself likely means something different for everyone.

Recently, I've been intentional about following Naval's advice in the thread. After doing the work, I've come learn what it means to productize yourself.

Fundamentally, productizing yourself is the process of transforming your interests into forms that can be inifinitely leveraged.Again, this process looks different for everyone.

Your interests can be anything, as long as they are authentic. You dont have to be an expert, or even good in the things you are interested in. You only have to be interested.

The forms you choose to codify your interests can also be anything, as long as that form can be easily scaled. For most people this means using the internet in some way.

Here are some examples of productizing yourself:

  • tweeting about something you recently learned
  • filming a tiktok of a dance move you know
  • writing a book of your stories
  • recording a podcast about a terrible mistake
  • posting a pic on instagram of food that you made

Each of these examples contains two elements:

  • Interest
  • Leverage
LeverageInterest
tweeting aboutsomething you recently learned
filming a tiktok ofa dance move you know
writing a book ofyour stories
recording a podcast abouta terrible mistake
posting a pic on IG offood that you made

That's it. That's what Productizing Yourself is. Do it enough and you will be rich.
